Established as a firm family favourite, this annual Halloween sell-out ‘Fright Night at Hylands Estate’, is packed full of the latest technology to wow the crowds. This year the creators take their inspiration from Lord of the Rings as mythical characters and mere mortals are encouraged to take on a quest through the bewitched gardens before a big finale featuring 3D projection and fireworks to music.
The trail is set through the enchanting gardens of Hylands Estate, which will come to life after dark with trolls, elves and wizards guiding the path with the odd trick along the way. For all those brave children whom take part in the trial a special treat awaits at the end.
Back at the house families can listen to spooky stories on the back lawn, watch fire dancers and have their face painted before experiencing the big show. The finale offers 3D projection mapping, this year’s theme has been kept tightly under wraps, but previous animations have included scenes of the house burning down and rebuilding itself, snake infestations and even a trip in to outer space; the show closes with a firework display over the top of the house, played out to music.
Tickets: £10 full, £7 concessions and children, under 3’s free, all tickets £10 on the door (due to demand you are advised to book in advance).
