On Friday 26th September, the Boots store at Meadows Shopping Centre in Chelmsford will be hosting a charity cake sale as part of Macmillan’s World’s Biggest Coffee Morning, showing their dedicated support to Macmillan Cancer Support.
Customers are invited to come into the store from nine o’clock on Friday morning and take their pick from a selection of delicious cakes and buns all generously donated by staff and their friends and family. The profits raised on the day will kindly be donated to Macmillan Cancer Support in order to help towards their work at the charity.
Not only will the staff at Boots be offering cakes and buns for shoppers to take home, but they will also be added extra excitement to the day by dressing up as themed Disney characters.
Debbie, Health Care Advisor at Boots and organiser of the charity event commented, ‘It’s the first time I have ever arranged something like this in store and it has been great fun getting all the staff involved.
I’m pleased we can have some exciting activity in store not only to please customers, but mainly raise awareness and well deserved funds for a fantastic charity. Please stop by and buy a cake to help us make a difference!’
Sue Patel, General Manager of Meadows Shopping Centre commented, ‘I am delighted that one of our retailers is getting involved with a well-known charity and I would encourage all shoppers to come and indulge in the tasty treats as well as placing a donation. It will be nice to have some activity going on and I look forward to seeing the staff in their themed fancy dress outfits!’
The store is looking to make as much money for the charity as possible and would greatly appreciate donations however small or large to be placed in their branded Macmillan buckets as well as the sales of the cakes throughout the day.
