Children starting their very first year of school have been settling in to the brand new Reception Department at St. Margaret’s Prep School near Halstead.
After weeks of renovation and building work, the children have now begun their educational career in two brand new classrooms which are proving a real treat for the young pupils.
As well as the bright, spacious classrooms, children also have their own private garden area where they can play, learn through nature, and grow their own flowers and plants.
Asked for their thoughts on their wonderful new classrooms, Eadie said: “There are lots of toys and I like the big rooms.” Emily added: “The rooms are nice and big, and all my friends are here. Henry said: “I like playing with the toys and the whiteboard”, and Rudy liked the fish on the toilet doors.
It was originally the stable block for Gosfield Hall but today, St. Margaret’s Prep School houses modern facilities within its beautiful traditional setting. Elaine Powling, Principal of St. Margaret’s Prep, commented: “It’s fantastic to have our stunning new Reception wing, and to have so much space for the children to learn and play. The children have had such great fun settling in and are obviously enjoying their new environment.
“We had a very busy summer, with building work and renovations to different parts of the school. As well as the Reception Wing, we have a new music room, and have also made improvements to our SEN department.
Parents and staff alike, want the best for our children; bright, spacious classrooms, up to date resources and additional outdoor learning spaces – and that’s exactly what we have here at St Margaret’s.”
St. Margaret’s will be holding their Open Mornings on 2nd and 3rd October.
