Jake Phipps finished his tour of the Olympic venues on the 16th July.
Jake Phipps a 12-year-old boy from Worcestershire, has become the first person to cycle too every Olympic venue in the UK. Having set off from Glasgow on the 9th June, Jake arrived at the Olympic Stadium on the 16th July, two days earlier than expected.
Sports-mad Jake, started at Hampden Park, Scotland and cycled 2012km in just 38 days as he raised money for charities Action fort Children and Access Sport.
Jake says: “It’s been a fantastic experience and we’ve met some amazing people. I’ve really enjoyed being out on the road, although it was very hard work at times!
Since setting off, Jake visited St James’ Park in Newcastle, Old Trafford in Manchester, Coventry City Stadium, the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff and the Weymouth and Portland Sailing Academy. Along the way he met current and future British Olympians to add to meeting Olympic Heroes Sir Steve Redgrave and British cyclist Ed Clancy MBE.
Jake was sponsored by Hornby for £1000. Hornby also presented Jake with a variety of products from its London 2012 range on his arrival at the stadium.
