Simon Carter is showing his paintings at Flatford.
The National Trust celebrates John Constable’s influence on contemporary artists with a season of exhibitions at the Boat House Gallery, Flatford.
‘Constable’s paintings talk to me about going beyond the careful and crafted surface; they talk about recovering a sense of grandeur from the mad wreckage of the painting process.’
Simon is a local artist living and working on the Essex Coast at Frinton. His working practice reflects Constable’s – paintings develop in his studio from hundreds of drawings made out in the landscape.
Simon has achieved national recognition, He’s had many solo exhibitions, most recently at Messum’s gallery in London as well as exhibiting in prestigious Group exhibitions.
