Would you like to enter your dog into a Dogathon? Would you like some more information about dogathons? Headway Essex have provided us with with the following information.
It will soon be time for the annual event that local canines all look forward to with much tail-wagging excitement! The 15th Colchester Dogathon takes place from 10.30am on Sunday 24th June in High Woods Country Park and this ever popular event will raise much needed funds for Headway Essex which provides care and support for survivors of brain injury throughout Essex.
The sponsored dog walk is approximately 2.5 miles through beautiful fields and woodland, and there will be an opportunity to pop in to the Visitors Centre for a rest and refreshments, before returning to the start for the Fun Dog Show where pooches can compete for the title of Dog & Owner Lookalike amongst others! With the chance to win prizes, certificates and rosettes.
Every dog participating in the walk will get a bag of doggy treats and a personalised Certificate of Thanks for the money they raise, and there are super prizes for top fundraisers too. The Dogathon is sponsored by Penrose and Partners Veterinary Surgeons supported by Snoopies Grooming Salon, The Essex County Standard, Barking Mad & Bow Wow Pet Photography.
“The Headway Essex Dogathon has become a firm favourite for fundraising Fidos with over 150 dogs taking part last year. We would like to thank our sponsors, supporters, volunteers and the staff of High Woods Country Park without whom the event would not be possible.” Said Anna Smith Fundraising Coordinator.
